American poet and essayist Henry David Thoreau once wrote, “I never found the company that was so companionable as solitude.” In the chilly air of a thawing winter in Montana, one such lone wolf glides across a still lake — only breaking the silence of the winter wonderland with the tail of his canoe as it quietly rips the glassy, iridescent surface of the water into a trailing, feathered tear. Photographer @alexstrohl can’t wait to get back to such moments as the seasons turn. Where do you go to bask in solitude? (🎥: @alexstrohl 📍: Montana )

Somehow managing to combine industrial and adorable, Falun is home to one of the oldest and most important copper mines in Sweden — the one that served as the primary source of that classic red tint synonymous with Swedish country houses — for hundreds of years. Today, travelers from around the world visit for the year-round outdoor activities like hiking, biking, swimming, sailing, cross-country and downhill skiing, and even ski-jumping, to name a few. • Traveler @erubes1 was floored by the beauty of our magical planet on a trip to Bora Bora earlier this year. “It was such a crazy experience. I left with an even greater appreciation for the beauty of the ocean and the incredible color palette it has. From blues to greens to everything in between, it was often hard to believe what my eyes were seeing.” Where have you been in the world that has left you speechless? If you've ever dreamed of time travel, you may want to make your way to Finland — Finland and Sweden straddle two different time zones, which means that jumping between their borders can zoom you an hour into the future or an hour into the past. Travel tip: Once grounded back in Finnish time, don’t miss out on the chance to see the Northern Lights, Santa Claus, or if you’re headed straight to Levi, choices will abound when it comes to which mountain, or "fell," to ski your way down. • Encompassed by a cluster of boulders at the edge of Lake Tahoe, mini pools form at the edge of the water's rocky shoreline. These naturally-forming, individualized watering holes are an ideal destination for cooling off during the summer months, but can reach freezing temperatures during the winter season. Travel tip: If the weather is not inviting enough for a swim, try exploring the surrounding terrain with a drive — the land embeds 72-mile of road that is wonderfully scenic — or visit nearby historic towns, like Apple Hill or Genoa. A view of Pelisor Palace peaks through the vibrant hues of Romania’s fall foliage. The palace was built per the instruction of King Carol I for his nephew and future king, Ferdinand. King Ferdinand's wife, Queen Marie, was an accomplished artist in her own right and made many of the artistic decisions about the design of the palace — she even helped with the painting of it. Travel tip: If you're in town, be sure to stop by for a tour — it only takes 45 minutes and is sure to inspire the interior designer in you. (📷: @cristihancu 📍: Pelișor (Romania ) )

An island of endless beauty, the cinematic landscapes of Iceland are a force to be reckoned with — and this dramatic, cascading waterfall is no exception. The country has hundreds, maybe even thousands of incredible waterfalls, so it's highly likely that you'll find your gaze fixed on a variety of the natural masterpieces throughout your visit. Travel tip: If you have the time, spend 7-10 days road-tripping on Route 1, also known as Ring Road — you'll come across a vast number of falls, lagoons, glaciers, fjords, and even some great pubs. • Stretching from Broome to Cape Villaret, Roebuck Bay not only offers incredibly-hued views, but also an astounding diversity of marine and plant life — in 2005, a new species of dolphin, the snubfin, was even discovered in the area, and can often be found playing, swimming, and fishing in the bay near the Dampier Peninsula coast. Travel tip: For those a bit more into creatures of the sky versus the sea, Roebuck Bay and just south at Eighty Mile Beach are considered two of the best places in Australia to view migratory birds. “The most important tool in your camera bag is your voice, which is why #BDTeam traveled to Semporna — a town on the island of Borneo in the Malaysian state of Sabah — to give a voice to those who don’t have one. We spent two weeks on the island studying marine conservation, and some of the things we learned were shocking. The world's oceans are being destroyed. Ecosystems that have taken thousands of years to grow have been devastated by fish-bombing, coral bleaching, and overfishing — this cannot continue. Humanity is dependent on the vibrancy of these sacred waters, and by using our voices, we can inspire positive action." Join the #BDTeam’s @loganlambert and creator @nainoalanger as they explore the waters near Pom Pom Island in Malaysia alongside the @traccborneo , an environmental organization actively working with volunteer scientists from around the world to restore its coral reefs. Check the link in our bio to learn more about the team’s time in Semporna. (🎥: @loganlambert and @nainoalanger 📍: Semporna, Malaysia )

"Are you currently on a search for waters so blue they result in an uncontrollable reflex to stop what you're doing and dive right in? If so, French Polynesia should be at the top of your to-visit list — the absolutely stunning seascapes like this one speak for themselves.” (📷: @karl_shakur 📍: French Polynesia )

"You shape your own reality — your thoughts, your feelings, your soul. This is who you are; this is your experience. Make it everything you dreamed it could be." Wise words from creator Sam Potter, who takes us through the enchanting beauty of his current reality in Hawaii; through the densely forested area on the Big Island, to a clearing where a waterfall cascades therapeutically onto the volcanic rock below. What do you do to create your own unique experience through travel or daily life? (🎥: @captainpotter 📍: Hawaii )

Sheets of iridescent, emerald light wave like flags, undulating across midnight blue of the crisp, night sky in Bardu, Norward. The Northern Lights, also known as the Aurora Borealis, can be best seen during the months when “polar nights” — a phenomenon where night extends for more than 24 hours in the northern- and southern-most points of the earth — ensue. In Norway, this is between the months of October and March. What would you do if you had an “eternal” night? (📷: @thomaseckhoff 📍: Altevatnet, Bardu, Norway )
